The Hasselbald Masters 2012 winners have just been announced. From the initial 2500 applications, 110 nominees were selected by a Jury composed of photographers, editors, agents and publishers – and for the second time, their work was submitted to an online public vote.

The eleven Hasselbald Masters now have a few months – and their own all-new Hasselbald gear – to work on their Masters project around the theme "Evoke". The third volume of the Hasselbald Masters book (published by TeNeues) and its companion travelling exhibition will be unveiled in September 2012, during Photokina.

Created in 2001 to honor “photography at its finest: as its most inspired, most communicative, most beautiful”, the Hasselbald Masters photo Awards have often signified a life-changing experience for the winners. The Hasselbald Jury considers overall photographic skill in eleven categories – including Upcoming Talent to boost an aspiring professional’s career. This approach of the photographer as a whole – creativity, concept and technique all balanced-out within the Craftsman – accounts for the competition’s outstanding standard. A sense of excellence supported by Hasselbald ’s solid reputation as one of the only remaining European camera manufacturers, a producer of desire and dream for the accomplished photographer.
