Thrice a year, Foto Grafia holds an open call for submissions. Each submission is reviewed by the editing committee and the next issue of the magazine is built around the selection. Targeting Brazilian contemporary photographers, as well as investigators and students in the field, Foto Grafia considers photography from a fine art point of view. Noting that, while the art of photographing has undergone substantial creative and technical transformations, the same cannot be said of photographic theory, the magazine receives text submissions as well as images, and dedicates an entire section to academic articles.
With over 100,000 viewers, it is probable that Foto Grafia – all in all, one hundred neatly designed pages – has stretched well beyond the academic field. However, you may have to content yourself with the visuals, as the written contents are 100% Brazilian Portuguese.
